I’m going to take you step-by-step through the process I use to turn a reference image into a successfully rendered eye on the canvas.

We start with how to find the right reference images. How to edit those images in Krita, a free painting software.

Use tools to help us successfully draw the eyes then get concrete objective feedback on our drawing accuracy.

We are going to paint these eyes from start to finish using a two stage process that involves opaque paint as well as glazes. And we’re going to do it all without any solvents or harmful chemicals whatsoever.
